Director Dan Williams’ Swansong

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 2025 was Daniel Williams’ swansong as Director and what a fantastic show to end with.

Dan has been our Director for the last eight years but has been an integral part of the Youth Opera family for much longer than that. Dan first joined the company in 1999 for our production of Guys and Dolls and then went on to play many leading roles, winning the Presidents Shield in 2006 and 2015.

Dan’s ability to bring out the best in our young cast members has been a joy to see and he has inspired many to pursue careers in the Arts . The comedy and energy he has always infused into our shows have made them unforgettable, and his vision and direction have produced some of our most successful productions.

Dan will be sorely missed by everyone at Carmarthen Youth Opera and we send him our very best wishes in all his future endeavours and hope that he will continue to be a part of our larger Youth Opera family for many years to come – as Dan recently said ‘No one ever REALLY leaves Carmarthen Youth Opera, once it’s in your DNA it’s there to stay’ – who knows we may even get him back into a future production!
